Don’t Guess, Test!
How to use Mail Tester for better email deliverability.

All right fam!
How many times have you spent hours perfecting the perfect email?
You came up with a snappy subject line, an irresistible CTA, and sick graphics. You finally hit send, and bam… straight to the spam folder. 🤬
Luckily there is a cool tool you can use to identify issues before you hit send that will give you a much better chance of hitting the inbox.
👇🏼
Mail ☸️ Tester!
Their tagline, “Test the Spammyness of your Emails.“
You can use Mail Tester as a final quality check. It will give you a score (out of 10) as well as any potential issues that can flag your email as spam like spammy content, missing authentication, or formatting problems that might hurt your chances of landing in the inbox.
Let’s walk through the testing process.
How to Use Mail Tester in Less Than 5 Minutes
Step 1: Create Your Email
Fire up your email platform and craft your masterpiece. Make it witty, make it clickable, but most importantly, make it yours.
Step 2: Get the Mail Tester Address
Head over to Mail Tester and grab the unique email address they provide. It’ll look something like this: [email protected]

Step 3: Send Your Email to Mail Tester
Go back to your email platform and send your email to the Mail Tester address provided.

Step 4: Check Your Score
Wait a few seconds for it to work its magic, then click "Check Your Score" on the Mail Tester website.

Step 5: Interpret Your Results
Once Mail Tester does its thing, it’ll show you a detailed report.
A score of 9+ is your ideal number. If it’s lower, no worries—Mail Tester will let you know what issues it found and how to fix them.

If you see an issue on the report you can click on the message and it will drop down and show you all the breakdown, and you can click in further to learn how to fix it.

Step 6: Fix and Resubmit If Needed
If you are not happy with your score, fix the issues identified by Mail Tester, then go get a new unique email address to send another test email and get an updated score.
Repeat the process until you are happy with your score! 😊
By verifying your score with Mail Tester, you’ll send emails with confidence, knowing they’ll reach inboxes instead of spam traps.
Pro Tip: Test Regularly
Even I succumb to this trap. 😞
If you’re a seasoned email marketer, remember every email is unique. Run each email through Mail Tester—it will only take a minute.
Even though you think you got it in the bag, all it takes is one simple mistake to trigger the spam filter.
